What is a Mayura?

Handcrafted in design, the MAYURA was born after two years of intensive research in 2016, this melodic steel percussion is called Handpan. From the family of intuitive instruments and still new in the world of music, this captivating sound sculpture is accessible to all and does not require any musical prerequisite, it will also satisfy confirmed musicians, as there are already some virtuosos. It offers a range of vibratory, percussive and harmonic possibilities quite unique in its kind and is also often used for treatments in music therapy.

What does Mayura mean?

In Sanskrit, MAYURA means Peacock, this bird has often reminded me of the architecture of the Handpan as well as its metallic colors.
In a more spiritual and mythological way, the Peacock, close to the Phoenix, embodies immortality, resurrection ... My reconversion in the manufacture of this wonderful instrument is like a rebirth, a new form of freedom ... this difficult art m 'pushed into my entrenchments and taught me a lot about myself ..
Each achievement is like a part of the soul that I breathe into the instrument when this cold matter becomes life and music.

Qui suis-je ?

Je suis Rémi , passionné de musique depuis le plus jeune âge. A cette époque je décryptais des mélodies à l’oreille sur mon petit piano à 6 ans, tapais la percu de 14 à 18, pris ma première guitare à 20, plongeais ensuite dans la Musique assistée par Ordinateur en travaillant l’arrangement et l’accompagnement aussi pour d’autres.. J’ai toujours été autodidacte dans ce milieu comme pour la fabrication de handpan que je dois uniquement à mes recherches et mon expérience. J’ai découvert le « Hang » très tôt et attendu longtemps avant de pouvoir en trouver un correct à l’époque. L’envie de conception à vite pris le pas sur le jeu, et après deux ans de lutte acharnée pour comprendre les mystères de la fabrication, voilà où nous en sommes..
